Tanja and David, where in the world do I start? Well right here in my backyard in fact! Tanja has been out to my house many times and knew this was the area she wanted to have her engagements done. David is such a sport and does pretty much whatever Tanja musters around in her head! I love it! David adores her and I think it’s beautiful. I was actually there the day that he proposed to her hiding behind a rock ledge trying to capture some photos of the whole thing!
Tanja wanted a vintage style to her engagements and I just love these travel inspired ones we started out with! It was a BIG deal to keep track of David’s passport (as he’s visiting from England)!!!!
I have wanted to photograph someone on this bridge for a very long time! I’m so glad that Tanja was able to see the same thing I did as she drove over it for the first time to my house!!!
We then headed to another place that I’ve been dying to shoot at!!! Every weekend when we go to visit TW’s parents we pass this vineyard and I always put in a mental note: I’ve got to take someone out here!!!! Now I can put that note aside thanks to Tanja! She’s so stinkin beautiful……doesn’t she just look famous with that beautiful hair?!?!?!!?
This next set has a bit of a funny background story to it. We first tried to set up our picnic in the middle of the dirt road. But between getting the blanket down, the typewriter, the soda, and not to mention the couple a car would come then we’d do it all over again and another car would come!!! We got a bit frustrated but headed to a beautiful field instead. But the story doesn’t stop there, while we were taking these Tanja noticed some cows getting closer and closer…….well apparently we were in the middle of two fields of cows that were headed towards one another as if they were going to battle! Needless to say we got our stuff quickly and hopped over on the other side of the fence into the “safe” zone!!! :) Then afterwards they followed us to the gate and we tried to touch them. I didn’t realize they hadn’t ever seen a cow that close before! If I would have known that I would have stuck them out in our field and let our little cow come say hi!!!
Tanja and David I can’t wait to fly out to Europe next summer for your wedding day!!! You two are such a beautiful couple! It’s been such a blast being able to work alongside you two and see you grow!
Today I had an amazing day shooting Kelly and Adam’s wedding. I’m not going to spill the beans too too much about how much I loved them because there will be a later post for that. My self portrait today was down at Devil’s Den while I was shooting some couple portraits on the waterfall. What a beautiful place to get married and I’m so glad I got to spend most of the day outside today with such a great and loving family!
Congratulations to Kelly and Adam! I met with them today at Panera. They recently moved here and plan on getting married March 13th at Devils Den! I’m so excited about it! They are having a short and sweet ceremony with a very intimate crowd. Adam works at Devils Den as an interpreter?, he said he leads people on the trails and Kelly is going back to school. I can’t wait to see you two in March! Best wishes! Keep posted for pictures!

I am so pumped! All the time I get brides that want to do their own flowers, which honestly usually this scares me, mostly because the only place to get flowers in bulk around here is Sam’s Club so they usually all end up being the same do it yourself flowers. But wait I’ve found a super cool awesome website for anyone interested in doing their own flowers!! If you are one of those people I recommend you take a look at this webpage really quick though! It will help you determine if you really are a DIY flower bride. Now as for the rest of you. They sell their flowers in a Grand Box which includes several flowers to create many bouquets. Today is Sunday and there’s one thing I love most about Sunday, it’s the only day of the week that I don’t work (usually, unless I have a wedding planned). I love that the whole day is full of no technology, no worries for the day, nothing I have to get done, it’s all about relaxing and enjoying my family. I know there’s obviously a whole lot more about Sunday to enjoy and write about but I’m not focusing on that, I’m focusing on enjoying doing hardly anything. So my picture for today takes place on our fence in front of our home, where I sat today and watched the sunset.
Ok I didn’t forget, I promise! A little while back (most of you know!) I entered myself into a few contests trying to win a spot in a photography workshop, well both times I got super close but didn’t quite win. I couldn’t have gotten that close however without all of your help! So in return (since I adore contests!) I asked everyone who was interested to send me an email with “contest entry” in the subject line if they wanted to enter my “Thank You”contest. I had a few people respond so he’s to those people! I am opening a poll and you’ve got a week to get the most votes! I am offering a gift valued at $50. Why just a “gift”? I want it to be something you want, for instance if you never listen to music a $50 iTunes gift card wouldn’t do you any good right? So you get the most votes and you basically get $50 in something you enjoy…..shopping, starbucks, iTunes, you name it!
