Vintage Umbrellas for Rent!!!

Saturday, June 26th, 2010

I just came across this website and couldn’t resist posting about it!!!  Check this out you can rent umbrellas for your wedding!!!!  I always recommend my clients to go buy some color coordinating umbrellas if they are planning an outside wedding and there is a chance of rain.  This website is perfect!  You can just rent those umbrellas instead and they will be much prettier, which means prettier pictures!!  :)

Think about it there are TONS of reasons to check this out!

Instead of renting a tent keep your guests covered from rain or the hot sun with umbrellas!

Color coordinating umbrellas for your wedding party!

Engagement pictures!

Hang umbrellas from the ceiling as decor!

Whether you are a wedding planner, a bride, or a wedding coordinator you’ve gotta check these out!  They have all different kinds too!  Ruffles, solids, prints, bridal, jeweled, and double layered!!!

Andrew Baker // Northwest Arkansas Headshots

Wednesday, January 6th, 2010

Alright I am so excited to share this cool guy with you!!!  Andrew Baker (linked to his website) is probably on my top 10 list of the coolest people I know!  I met up with him yesterday at Starbucks so we could chit chat and figure out what he was looking for from a photographer.  Today we went out (yep in the freezing cold weather) and did some shooting.  It was kind of him to buy me a hot cocoa but one just didn’t cut it, toward the end, during his last outfit change I had to run back in and purchase another…..thank you Common Grounds!!!!  :)   So why is this guy so cool?  First off he reminds me of a younger version of that Six Flags guy (I hope it’s ok that I said this in a blog considering I’ve already told him face to face, even though I almost got fired on the spot).  He’s so funny and sporadic!  I loved having the experience of shooting someone that is totally confident in themselves and wasn’t afraid to suggest ideas and act a bit silly, ok that’s an  exaggeration, a whole lotta silly!  This guy went to college I think like four times bouncing back and forth between majors and finally tried out the “drama” department (I have to mention he was only a drama major for one semester!) only to have a professor pull him aside and advise him to quit school and go for it!!!!  I wish someone would have told me that instead of watching me waste years and lots of money to find out I wanted to be a photographer rather than a Dietitian!  So now he works on cruise ships performing.  He stalked his current girlfriend Molly by noticing her name on her personal info sheet at the gym.  He was in a short film called “Ship Happens” that you can find on YouTube.  He played a one armed character (I really can’t remember this characters name sorry!) and apparently ruled the film.  He told me to go find it and if I didn’t watch any of it to be sure to watch parts 1 and parts 6 (apparently part 6 is the best).  One of the best things about Andrew here is that he inspired me to continue on my 365 day quest.  I know some of you are now rolling your eyes……..she’s going to start this again?  You know what, YES I am!!!  I was reminded of the idea that it wasn’t about the pictures it was about the project, obviously I know this, but I think somewhere along the lines I forgot.  So now I’m off to start the project again!  I figured if I have a goal to blog everyday that will make it twice as easy to post a simple picture everyday too, right!?!?  So I’ll start with a headshot/self-portrait for today.
