Tummy Tuesday

Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010

It is 12 weeks officially today, that means it is now the size of a large plum!  Apparently most of it’s major systems are in place, but obviously still need lots of maturing.  Right now it’s bone marrow is super busy making white blood cells.  I went in on Friday for a doctors appointment and heard the heartbeat again, this time it was 160 bpm.  That was a pretty exciting experience and makes it seem that much more real, since right now I just feel overweight and not pregnant.

You can see some imprints of road maps on my tummy, so sorry.  I pulled up my pants to sit comfortably through some training today, you’ll hear more about it tomorrow.

Enjoy!

Tanja and David // Northwest Arkansas Engagement Photography

Wednesday, February 10th, 2010

I know you all remember the images I posted a few days ago of Tanja and David’s engagement….. they haven’t even been engaged a week yet (technically they will tomorrow) and we’re already shot some engagement pictures!!!  I have a feeling knowing Tanja that there will be some more!  I told her no matter what if it snows while he’s here we’re shooting!  Sure enough it snowed like the very next day!  I love Tanja to death, she’s one of those girls that can brighten a room just with her presence!  Honestly there have been moments at work where everyone there was like “where’s Tanja?, I can’t wait till she gets here”.  That should speak volumes about how amazing this girl truly is.  I am fortunate enough that she actually wants to hang out with me at weddings all day!  And of course we can’t forget about that boy….. David.   He’s pretty cool too.  Actually anyone from Europe that’s hanging around here is cool, I think it’s the accent.  But in all seriousness, David really genuinely cares and loves my dear Tanja so he’s got to be an amazing man himself.  He always can make you laugh too!  Oh and I love to learn all the new words I’ve never heard before when I’m around him!!!

Congratulations you two!  I am so excited and honored to share all these special memories with you guys!  Best wishes and good luck.

This ring is a beauty!  David told me he could be a jeweler with as many rings as he had to look through to find the perfect one!!!

Congratulations to Kelly and Adam!  I met with them today at Panera.  They recently moved here and plan on getting married March 13th at Devils Den!  I’m so excited about it!  They are having a short and sweet ceremony with a very intimate crowd.  Adam works at Devils Den as an interpreter?, he said he leads people on the trails and Kelly is going back to school.  I can’t wait to see you two in March!  Best wishes!  Keep posted for pictures!

Personal confession…

Friday, January 15th, 2010

My husband might walk up behind me and tell me that my self portrait picture for the day is inappropriate but I think otherwise so I will post it anyways.  My personal confession lies in the fact that while I was taking a shower this morning I had a realization that the only times I wash my feet (consciously) are after I work out or if I can feel anything on them.  All the other times…………..GROSS!  So today’s post explains exactly my thoughts.  Do you see any soap, other than what circles around on the shower floor, on my feet?

I promise my mom really did teach me how to bathe properly, she can’t be blamed for my carelessness!

A Special Thank You RESULTS!!!

Thursday, January 14th, 2010

I held a contest recently in a way to thank all the people who voted for me in recent contests, by having people go vote for them!  I thought it was pretty fun.  It was valued at $50 and the winner was Ashley Avra which just so happens to be one of our 2010 brides!  The winner was also able to choose what they wanted for a $50 value and she of course chose a $50 credit toward a framed engagement or bridal portrait!  What a lucky girl huh?!?!  I think that’s an awesome idea!  Ashley and Jim will be getting married July 17th!  They are the first couple I’ve ever had send in their retainer fee and contract before I ever met with them!  I must admit I was a bit flattered! :)  I can’t wait to meet with them!   So once again Congratulations Ashley Avra for winning our Special Thank You Contest!!!

If you haven’t been able to tell this about me yet, I love my dog Ellie, she’s a chocolate lab and she’s super smart!  So of course I grabbed her and made her come along in my self portrait for the day!  I think she was a little scared that I was running and trying to get her excited in 10 seconds!  ha ha

There are so many different directions I could go with my post tonight but I’m going to mention briefly how much I hated having this “ugly” wood stove in my new home!  I was used to having a cute little fireplace along with a mantle in which you had a nice elegant focal point in your home.  When TW and I first moved into our home I ranted on and on about how I hated having a wood stove in the middle of the house.  I told him I was going to figure out a way to disguise it into a fireplace by building a mantle around it.  I absolutely hated everything about it!  Well winter time came around and he works and works to cut down firewood for us, weekend after weekend, and now I can say thank you for all the hard work you do so I can have a nice warm cozy house and not only that but no frozen pipes this winter!  (I’ve heard about several families that have had to suffer this sort of hardship this winter and I’ve gotta say with temperatures scaling all the way up to 1 degree I’m not sure I would be tough enough to handle that!!!!)  I am greatful I have a place of constant heat that I can warm my tootsies when they get cold!  So this post goes to my wonderful husband, thank you for all the woodchopping and wood hauling you do to make our house warm.

Another Monday’s Favorites!

Monday, January 11th, 2010

Today will be full of DIY projects for you swanky brides out there!

First off the information on how to download these table numbers and menus is here.

purpleandnavytablenumbers

I love this wedding timeline!!!!

What a cute idea for wedding favors or really for any reason!  Check out info to download the template here.

I am so pumped!  All the time I get brides that want to do their own flowers, which honestly usually this scares me, mostly because the only place to get flowers in bulk around here is Sam’s Club so they usually all end up being the same do it yourself flowers.  But wait I’ve found a super cool awesome website for anyone interested in doing their own flowers!!  If you are one of those people I recommend you take a look at this webpage really quick though!  It will help you determine if you really are a DIY flower bride.  Now as for the rest of you.  They sell their flowers in a Grand Box which includes several flowers to create many bouquets.  Here are a few of my favorite wedding flowers.

Roses & FreesiaRoses, Hypericum & Parrot Tulips

Hyacinths, Freesia & TulipsMixed Bouquets

40 Gold Rush Sunflowers Grand BoxEucalyptus Wreath

Peonies, Mixed18 Potted Phalaenopsis Orchids, Wedding Grand Box

And finally a Save the Date download!  Aren’t these super cute!!! Check it out here!

Please leave some comment love so I know if I should continue with Monday’s Favorites!

What a Sunday should feel like

Sunday, January 10th, 2010

Today is Sunday and there’s one thing I love most about Sunday, it’s the only day of the week that I don’t work (usually, unless I have a wedding planned).  I love that the whole day is full of no technology, no worries for the day, nothing I have to get done, it’s all about relaxing and enjoying my family.  I know there’s obviously a whole lot more about Sunday to enjoy and write about but I’m not focusing on that, I’m focusing on enjoying doing hardly anything.  So my picture for today takes place on our fence in front of our home, where I sat today and watched the sunset.
