Are we Step Up material?

Sunday, February 28th, 2010

Tonight we watched Step Up 2 at the inlaws house.  Everytime I watch any of those step movies I totally wish I had any sort of dancing skill.  All that awesome upbeat music just gets my heart pumping and you can’t help but want to get up and dance!!!!  So of course we went home and did all our dance moves for practice……..

My husband is an amazing orange peeler.  I want the whole world to know it too!  Personally I find it very interesting that he can do this, why……well when I peel an orange there are about 50 pieces!!!

Fingerprint chaos…….

Friday, February 26th, 2010

Today I was in my last day of training at the census and we were out doing some actual interviews with people when our crew leader called us and told us to come in an hour early.  When we got back he informed me that I was terminated……. really confused I got a phone number to call to main office and I just quietly  walked out.  As I left I immediately called the office and of course was left with nothing but a voicemail for some guy named Kelly.  I left my message and was still sitting there really confused and racking my brain thinking of all the reasons I could have been the only one terminated in my group.  I then got home and received a call back from Kelly, he tried his best to explain to me that somehow they couldn’t read either set of fingerprints I had taken so that meant I was basically put on a non working status (or in other terms was terminated) until further notice.  He also mentioned that this has never happened before and that was why he wasn’t really sure how to explain it to me.  Now I had been very warned that all these census people apparently can’t make up their mind and anything can change at any moment several times.  I said to the man “ok well that sounds interesting, I guess I’ll just wait around to see if I’ll be on a working status later”  Seriously not even 10 minutes later the man called me back and told me they didn’t like the policy the way it was currently and that I was put back on a working status.  So I immediately left my house and when back up to the training site to keep working.  So now I just feel like every unknown call on my phone is them telling me again that I cannot work.  I bet it was my pesky thumbs that caused all these problems!!!

New temporary job

Wednesday, February 24th, 2010

Yesterday was my first day of training and today was SOOOO boring!  It is so hard to sit in uncomfy chairs from 8am to 4pm!  Honestly how do all those kiddos go to school all day long and pay attention?  I fell asleep in my chair, I got up to go to the bathroom probably 5 or 6 times, the times I wasn’t going I was refilling my water cup.  We have two more days left then I’ll be out in the country backwoods of Huntsville pestering people about how many housing units are on their property.  Please take the time to respond to these people.  I learned today that the census is how they determine government funding as well as how many representatives you get for your state.  I think that’s pretty important!  Well if you haven’t figured it out by now I am a 2010 Census Enumerator.  Basically I’ll be going around to have brief interviews with people as well as leave them a questionnaire and be off on my merry way.  If you need a job they are hiring right now, check out 2010census.com for more info.  It pays pretty well and they pay 50 cents a mile too.

Tummy Tuesday

Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010

It is 12 weeks officially today, that means it is now the size of a large plum!  Apparently most of it’s major systems are in place, but obviously still need lots of maturing.  Right now it’s bone marrow is super busy making white blood cells.  I went in on Friday for a doctors appointment and heard the heartbeat again, this time it was 160 bpm.  That was a pretty exciting experience and makes it seem that much more real, since right now I just feel overweight and not pregnant.

You can see some imprints of road maps on my tummy, so sorry.  I pulled up my pants to sit comfortably through some training today, you’ll hear more about it tomorrow.

What a Sunday should feel like

Sunday, January 10th, 2010

Today is Sunday and there’s one thing I love most about Sunday, it’s the only day of the week that I don’t work (usually, unless I have a wedding planned).  I love that the whole day is full of no technology, no worries for the day, nothing I have to get done, it’s all about relaxing and enjoying my family.  I know there’s obviously a whole lot more about Sunday to enjoy and write about but I’m not focusing on that, I’m focusing on enjoying doing hardly anything.  So my picture for today takes place on our fence in front of our home, where I sat today and watched the sunset.

Ashton and Adam // Northwest Arkansas Engagements

Monday, November 9th, 2009

Ashton and Adam are such wonderful people!  They are from my hometown and will be getting married on June 12th!  So I have got to share how Adam proposed!!! It’s so cute.  I won’t go into all the details because I just know I’ll mess them up but he was on a family vacation with her family down in Florida.  They had a condo on like the 13th floor or something (see that’s probably one of those details I’ll mess up)…. and he enlisted his future family in law (along with random people on the beach) to spell out “Ashton will you marry me?”  in the sand!!!!  How adorable.  I can’t imagine how large they had to have made that so you could see it all the way from up there!  If I can I’ll try to get a photo of that for you all!  They are Razorback fans and drove up here on a weekend when the Hogs were playing in Little Rock.  They sported their fan gear and we walked all over campus for some great shots!  I loved that Adam was getting text messages the entire session of important game updates from his little brother!!!  There’s a shot of that in an earlier post!

This post is the image I took yesterday.  I will post the one for today later this evening.  I just didn’t want anyone to think I forgot!!!  :)  Yesterday I had the opportunity to drive to OKC.  I was able to attend the sealing of Mark and Renee!!!  I will write more about that when I make their blog post but let’s just say….. AMAZING!!!  So with that said I drove a lot yesterday.   Actually the entire day it seems like we spent in the car so I thought it would be fitting to get a self portrait describing my day….
