Out and About // Hawksbill Craig

Tuesday, November 16th, 2010

Friday night I met up with Erika, but before we could start talking photography I had to hold her sweet baby boy.  He’s going to be a heart breaker.  Such a cutie pie. Talking photography now, we spent several hours sharing and swapping ideas for the website and photo shoots.  Erika has lots of great ideas for revamping the website- I’m excited!!  With that said- be sure to check out the site from day to day!

Moving onto the weekend- Sunday afternoon we went hiking at Hawksbill Craig (one of my favorite places).  It’s a fun hike, and the views are… what for it… breathtaking!  Hawksbill Craig is said to be the most photographed place in Arkansas, and if you have been there before then you definitely understand why.  I’m loving the fall, and the cool weather… but this getting dark at 5:30, I’m not digging it.  Once the sun set, my toes began to freeze.  I think it’s getting time to retire the chacos for the year.

Out and About // Texas

Fall is my favorite season.  Cute boots.  Cute sweaters.  Cute jackets.  Did I mention cute boots?  And yeah, the leaves are beautiful too.  But the shopping in the fall- ahhhmazing.  So this weekend I was in need of some retail therapy.  Just what the doctor ordered.  Lots of shopping.  It was nice to get away from “the men” and have some girl time.  We shopped, shopped some more, and then we had been to every store at least twice- we saw “Life As We Know It” at one of the coolest theaters (Gold Class Cinemas).  Five minutes before our movie we were escorted to our seats… our very plush, reclining seats.  At the beginning of our movie we were given pillows and blankets, as if the reclining seats were not enough.  And if we needed refills or candy to go with our popcorn all we had to do was hit the call button.  Talk about service and comfort.  It was quite enjoyable.  Definitely a great weekend… can’t wait for our next shopping trip- Christmas shopping!!!

Out and About // Magic Screeeeams

Monday, November 1st, 2010

For a good scare and fun night out we went to Magic Screams for Halloween.  Let me set the scene for you….

It was pitch black outside, scary sound effects played over the loud speakers, and ghosts, ghouls, and goblins had taken over the theme park.  IT. WAS. AWESOME.  For October Magic Springs is transformed into a frightening (but fun!) theme park, Magic Screams- tada!  In the evening, actors in scary costumes, masks and makeup wander the park, looking to scare visitors (they got me- several times).  The Phobia House of Fears was one of the two haunted houses… scared of spiders? clowns? tight spaces?  The House of Fears had them all.  The Murder Mansion was the second haunted house, from your first step in you were in the midst of a murderous rampage- hello scary!  After putting my brave face on and walking through both haunted houses, we raced between rides trying to ride them all before the park closed.  And to cap the Halloween weekend off I saw Paranormal Activity 2.  Well… I saw more of the inside of my jacket than I did the movie, it was pretty scary.

Hope you all had a fun Halloween weekend!

Out and About // Guess…

Monday, October 25th, 2010

Yep, another RAZORBACK post.  For lack of better words, I have hog fever.  Okay, okay, corny jokes stop there.  So this weekend my dad and I cheered on the Hogs in the rain.  It was a father/daughter weekend, go ahead and say it “Awwww”.  Arkansas finally earned its first win over Houston Nutt…. it took five hours, but we beat ‘em! The weather delays were a tad ridiculous.  -Over the loud speakers, “The storm is now 10 miles away moving at a speed of blah blah blah… the storm is capable of producing lightning and hail, please evacuate the aluminum bleachers blah blah blah….”  So we traded our wet seats for a dry table at Louie’s.  After the second delay, we knew we had made the right decision.  Louie’s fried green beans and a Razorback win… makes for a great Saturday!!
