I finally (I say that because we’ve been trying to get together for months and the weather just wasn’t having it!) got to meet up with Megan and Benton last Friday! We had a wonderful time shooting around downtown Rogers. I had the privilege of meeting their adorable puppy! I just adore when people bring along their pets! Around our home pets are a VITAL part of our family. What a cute way to add some personality to your engagements! I am going to self claim myself to be the “dog whisperer…..or maybe barker” to get the shot! :) We had a really great time and stay posted for more to come!
Sara and Blake were referred to us by the lovely London and Darren who will be getting married in 70 days!!! When I met with Sara and her mother they told me they had already hired another photographer and had engagements (which obviously they didn’t like hence I took new ones), they didn’t like that they weren’t personal to them. Soooo I had Sara and Blake fill out a questionnaire that I use to get to know my clients a little bit better and provide truly original and personal images. Sara mentioned a few things to me that we incorporated into their session, but for now we’ll focus on their love for the outdoors. While we were setting up this shoot (more on that later) Sara mentioned to me that they had plans to actually go camping in a few weeks! How perfect!!!!
When we posted this picture last week of Jessica and Ben…….. We had several comments on this particular image. One comment in particular was that it was “Award Winning”. Thanks to Ben and of course the invention of the camera phone….. We recommend not trying this……after I headed out there the thoughts occurred to me that it’s probably not super smart to bring your expensive equipment out onto a log over the lake….. Enjoy! -erika
I have no idea how this happened but somehow I totally didn’t blog about Kara and Nathan’s awesome tailgating theme!!! Seriously? Ugh.
So Kara and Nathan……they like to cheer on the Hogs (but only at football games). I took that and totally ran with it! I love the outcome! We had a whole lot of fun at this Vintage Razorback Tailgating Inspired shoot!
Part 1:
Big shout out to Red Hill Gallery right off of College (across from The Flying Dog) for letting us borrow so many things for this shoot! The quilt made a wonderful accessory as well as the red little stool. Above is the most adorable beverage cooler I’ve ever seen and is a must for any Razorback Fan!
Jessica and Ben…..oh where do I start? I’m so excited about these two getting married! They are so full of life, style, and class I can’t wait for their wedding! I met with them upon booking their wedding and they shared some super awesome ideas (nope sorry I’m not going to spill the beans) that got me way way way happy that they chose us to photograph their special day! I first met Jessica while I worked for a short period part time at Forever 21 (oh my gosh I LOVE that store…), we started talking and soon realized that we were in touch with several of the same people! Crazy small world! She is such a sweet and caring gal I love her to pieces! This couple is really concerned about how their guests feel at their special day, now that’s just too cool for school since most of the time it’s all about the couple right? I just know this wedding will be full of love for each other (which makes for yummy pictures) as well as full of love between all the guests. Oh ok I seriously could go on for days and days about how excited I am about their upcoming day, but I guess I’ll save that for later posts! Maybe part of the reason I’m a bit hyped is the fact, I know, since they are working with Janessa Bailey who is like IT when it comes to wedding planning, that their wedding will seriously be full of amazing little photography opportunities…..does that make sense? Oh well it does to me and maybe will to you after I get to show you their pictures! :) And of course since they’ll be getting hitched at Pratt Place Barn that in itself is a reason to get all giddy!
But first we have to start with engagement pictures right? I’ll start with Part 1 and share Part 2 later! :)
It seems like every session I do, I always have a favorite right off the bat! I’m pretty sure this is the image that I shared with Ben and Jessica!
They are so stinkin cute together, I just can’t stand it! You see that middle shot there? Well this is probably not the smartest thing I’ve ever done, but I insisted on getting a better angle and there was no land over there to stand on and of course no boats around. Instead I trekked across this log laying in the water with my new boots and my camera in hand……now that I’m describing that, maybe I shouldn’t ever do that again?
These two really were up for anything I threw their way! When I met with Jessica and Ben for the first time they told me that their first kiss will be on their wedding day, which is AMAZING! I totally wanted to showcase that somehow in their images so when I found these red hott lips laying around I just knew they were the perfect couple for them!!!
I had so much fun getting to know these two as a couple! It was a fun filled day of shooting in beautiful weather out at Lake Fayetteville!
Oh goodie! I’m finally getting to work on Sean and Brittany’s engagement photos!!! Just to rub it in a little bit……while all my fellow Arkansans were suffering with up to 24 inches of snow (which if you don’t live around here…..that NEVER happens!…..we jump for joy when we get a mere 3 inches to go sledding in!), I was basking in the warmth of Hawaiian weather…..PERFECTION! Seriously I could live there and never look back! My dad just so happens to live an island over so while I was there I of course brought my little one and took a trip over to visit! My dad was so excited about being a grandpa! Anyways enough about me let’s see some pretty pictures!
Check us out on facebook to see a short video with more images!!!
Hey everyone!!! Just a few hours after I posted yesterday I was informed that we were featured again at Weddings in Arkansas’s facebook page! What fun!
Yay for Allison and Andrew for braving the cold weather and getting out in the beautiful snow!!!
Whew….. just got back from shooting some engagement pictures in Hawaii!!!! What a nice break from this record crazy snow we’ve had around here. Unfortunately I couldn’t blog while I was there, but don’t worry we’re back in action!!!
Last week, before I left, I submitted a few images to Weddings in Arkansas. I emailed Lauren who is the Special Projects Coordinator my selections and then they post 3 of their favorite images a week on their facebook page………
Yep, there we are right on the bottom! That’s Tanja and David, yep our previous associate photographer! I adore them, plus they are the reason we get to travel to England for a wedding this year!!!! I can’t wait!!!
We are just starting up our engagement season! I’ve got some new things in store for this year……although you’ll have to wait until next week to see them! I know…such a tease! :)
Just finished up an Awesome Snow Engagement Session with Allison and Andrew! Their wedding will be at the Beautiful Creekwood Gardens in Rogers AR!!!! I can’t wait to shoot there again!
Can I just start off by saying this girl is stinkin GORGEOUS!!!! Her eyes are totally beautiful!
I just loved the colors of this storyboard! We had a lot of fun in a short amount of time with these two!
We finished up the session with a beautiful sunset and some play time! I was excited when Allison and Andrew plopped down in the snow and started making snow angels!!! Ahhhh….reminds me of being a kid again!!!!
The Campbell Family (yep that includes our associate photographer Donnally) requested that I drove to Mena (yes my hometown) for their family portraits on their farm. What a beautiful place they have and so many good spots to shoot at!!!
I’m pretty sure this is my favorite shot of the whole day!!!
