Are we Step Up material?

Sunday, February 28th, 2010

Tonight we watched Step Up 2 at the inlaws house.  Everytime I watch any of those step movies I totally wish I had any sort of dancing skill.  All that awesome upbeat music just gets my heart pumping and you can’t help but want to get up and dance!!!!  So of course we went home and did all our dance moves for practice……..

Fingerprint chaos…….

Friday, February 26th, 2010

Today I was in my last day of training at the census and we were out doing some actual interviews with people when our crew leader called us and told us to come in an hour early.  When we got back he informed me that I was terminated……. really confused I got a phone number to call to main office and I just quietly  walked out.  As I left I immediately called the office and of course was left with nothing but a voicemail for some guy named Kelly.  I left my message and was still sitting there really confused and racking my brain thinking of all the reasons I could have been the only one terminated in my group.  I then got home and received a call back from Kelly, he tried his best to explain to me that somehow they couldn’t read either set of fingerprints I had taken so that meant I was basically put on a non working status (or in other terms was terminated) until further notice.  He also mentioned that this has never happened before and that was why he wasn’t really sure how to explain it to me.  Now I had been very warned that all these census people apparently can’t make up their mind and anything can change at any moment several times.  I said to the man “ok well that sounds interesting, I guess I’ll just wait around to see if I’ll be on a working status later”  Seriously not even 10 minutes later the man called me back and told me they didn’t like the policy the way it was currently and that I was put back on a working status.  So I immediately left my house and when back up to the training site to keep working.  So now I just feel like every unknown call on my phone is them telling me again that I cannot work.  I bet it was my pesky thumbs that caused all these problems!!!

A date tonight

Thursday, February 25th, 2010

TW called me today and asked me if I wanted to go watch the basketball game with him tonight.  The regional tournament was happening and they would be playing the winner of the two teams that played so as a coach obviously he needs to be there.  He said yea we can go eat too, I said that sounds great.  He said we’ll just go in at eat at the concession stand………..I started to laugh and said it’s a date!  Very quickly he assured me that he meant to say hospitality room, even still we were going on a date!  :)  Also while we were in town I convinced him that we needed (really really bad) to do some grocery shopping.  Now something very interesting about the two of us is we used to go grocery shopping once a week together when we were dating in Fayetteville.  I loved that time with him so much!  I remember not caring about anyone else.  I remember dreaming of the day that we would be the cute married couple shopping together.  We used to play marco polo in the store.  Now that is something that we’ve held on to and when we can’t find each other we start yelling “marco”!!!  I still love grocery shopping with TW as much as I did before, but I think now it’s because it means he’ll be paying!!!  :)

New temporary job

Wednesday, February 24th, 2010

Yesterday was my first day of training and today was SOOOO boring!  It is so hard to sit in uncomfy chairs from 8am to 4pm!  Honestly how do all those kiddos go to school all day long and pay attention?  I fell asleep in my chair, I got up to go to the bathroom probably 5 or 6 times, the times I wasn’t going I was refilling my water cup.  We have two more days left then I’ll be out in the country backwoods of Huntsville pestering people about how many housing units are on their property.  Please take the time to respond to these people.  I learned today that the census is how they determine government funding as well as how many representatives you get for your state.  I think that’s pretty important!  Well if you haven’t figured it out by now I am a 2010 Census Enumerator.  Basically I’ll be going around to have brief interviews with people as well as leave them a questionnaire and be off on my merry way.  If you need a job they are hiring right now, check out 2010census.com for more info.  It pays pretty well and they pay 50 cents a mile too.

Tummy Tuesday

Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010

It is 12 weeks officially today, that means it is now the size of a large plum!  Apparently most of it’s major systems are in place, but obviously still need lots of maturing.  Right now it’s bone marrow is super busy making white blood cells.  I went in on Friday for a doctors appointment and heard the heartbeat again, this time it was 160 bpm.  That was a pretty exciting experience and makes it seem that much more real, since right now I just feel overweight and not pregnant.

You can see some imprints of road maps on my tummy, so sorry.  I pulled up my pants to sit comfortably through some training today, you’ll hear more about it tomorrow.

Starving…..

Monday, February 22nd, 2010

Today was such a fast paced day for me.  I woke up at 5:30am, taught my seminary class at 6:40am, drove home to let Ellie out and work on editing some projects, went to work for 8 hours, stopped by taco bell for dinner (bc I only had $3 in my wallet and couldn’t find my debit card and all my credit cards haven’t been verified yet since I’m trying not to use them), drove home, let Ellie out, now I’m uploading a picture of me eating at taco bell for dinner, oh how exciting!

Now that I’ve uploaded my picture I still have to take a shower, prepare my seminary lesson, put Ellie up and feed her, then crawl into bed hopefully by 10:30?????  PLEASE!

My Girl

Sunday, February 21st, 2010

Today TW and I watched my girl, actually we just got finished watching it.  I knew the movie pretty well but haven’t seen it in quite some time, but TW told me he had never seen it, so it was a must for the night.  I knew the whole time that her best friend was going to die after searching for her mood ring but that’s not what upset me.  I am honestly admitting that I balled like a baby while watching this movie tonight.  I got a little scared.  In the movie her mother passed away while giving birth and that thought didn’t leave my mind.  I kept on thinking about it and just got upset.  I cried so hard I was hyperventilating.  TW did a wonderful job at comforting me tonight.  I don’t really know if I just was upset from this movie or maybe just a little overwhelmed all together and this movie brought out the best of me.  I did go and search for some stats on death during childbirth and they are less than 1% for maternal mortality in the developed world.  So I feel much more at ease.  Whew.

Stupid Movie…………
