The snow looks fun, but ice….no thank you.

I don’t really feel like repeating our last ice storm.  The last time I had my wisdom teeth pulled the day it started!  And on top of that I failed to go grocery shopping beforehand so hardly had any food that I could eat!  As we started to leave for TW’s parents house (we should have left way earlier) but the roads we covered in trees making it near impossible to travel through them.  We got to one section of the road that had a huge tree we couldn’t make our way around, then a huge tree fell right behind us trapping us in on this dirt road.  TW tried to get me out of the car to walk all the way to his parents house, but I was on so much medication I couldn’t even stand up!  How’s that for a ice storm partner!  He called on his two brothers Luke and Andy who made their way toward us (which seemed like forever as we prayed that the trees wouldn’t fall on our vehicle) with chainsaws and cut our way out.  I’m pretty sure I thanked them, but thanks again!  It was a horrible mess.  Our refrigerator leaked warping our kitchen floor.  Which does anyone have any advice on how to keep that from happening again?  I should probably get on that if we plan on not having power for several days.

48-hr Rain/Snow Forecast

My advice: Get somewhere where someone has a generator.  Get some food stocked up.  Make sure your doggies and kitties have water to drink everyday! Get out all your warm blankets.  If you have a fireplace you better go chop down some wood and store it where it won’t get wet.  Make sure you aren’t low on propane.  Enjoy your warm showers now.  Plan on spending some good quality time with your family.

Enjoy!
