Natalie and Brad were married Oct. 21st, 2009 at the Garden Room on Dickson St. They were married in the outer courtyard and it’s beautiful out there!!! Brad is in the military and they will soon be moving overseas!!! What an adventure! Thanks Brad for serving for our country and thanks Natalie for supporting your husband while he serves!!!
You two were so wonderful! I enjoyed spending the day with you two!
Natalie wore RED wedding shoes!!! I love this trend of wearing shoes that you’ll actually wear again!!! I loved the red with the zebra!!!

Everything fell right into place for these two. In fact this dress was one of the first few she ever tried on!!!

She’s beautiful!

Her aunt let her wear her real diamonds for the wedding!!! How sweet is that!!!

I just snapped this one real quick in the doorway at Pratt Place. I told you she was gorgeous!!!

This may just be my second fav shot of the day, or lets say favorite portrait!

Here’s a fun shot of the guys during the reception with their cigars!

Our intern, Tanja, got this awesome shot of her amazing bouquet!!! The florals were provided by Holiday Island Florists.

My favorite image for the night!!! I can’t take full credit for this shot though! A guest suggested the idea and we all went with it!!! What a beautiful day for a wedding!!!

Congrats Natalie and Brad!!! I wish you two the best!!!!
Enjoy!

I just realized I missed a blog post!!! Well as they say “better late than never”!
McKinzie and Alex were married at the beautiful outdoor reception location also known as the Botanical Gardens. They had such a gorgeous elegant wedding!!! I just loved all their colors!!!

These guys planned their wedding to end during the sunset so they opted to do a first look. I can’t stress enough how excited I get when my clients go this route!!! Honestly it just makes for a much smoother day! You get everything done and over with (except family portraits usually those are after), you can get to your guests more quickly, you don’t feel pressed for time, as well as you get yummy lighting.

Did I mention how beautiful Botanical Gardens is yet?!?!?!

What about how gorgeous McKinzie and Alex are? Did I mention that yet!?!?!?!?

I think this is my favorite image from their wedding!!! It’s so sunny and fun!

Mostly showing this image for the result……

I LOVE it!!!! :) He’s super stoked to get that garter!!!

I love how unscripted this image is!!! They were really into that “get low” song. I’m pretty sure McKinzie’s reaction is that of surprise that Alex could “get low”!!!!

What a precious moment. I love his grin!!!! I love the motion! I love the black and white! LOVE IT!

And finally how could you have an Arkansas wedding without callin those hogs?!?!!? Woooo Pig Suey!!!! Thanks to MS SoundWorks for keeping the party alive! Another must have at a wedding if you plan on having dancing is a DJ or even a live band, but they sure to make your reception run much more smoothly!!!

We had a Halloween party this morning for my seminary kids. We had a couple guests too so I was super happy!!! I took a group photo and I was so excited to show you all of their lovely costumes, but somehow (which I still haven’t figured this out) they aren’t on my memory card? Not so sure. I even took images of my outfit once I got home and those are the only ones I can see. So unfortunately I can’t post that image since apparently it doesn’t exist, but I do still want to show you what my Halloween costume was!

I’m not much of a Halloween fan. I love the part of creating a costume and all that creative side but I don’t much care for the extreme scariness of it. I don’t like being scared anymore, I used to love it! In fact my best friend Jessica and I used to watch horror movies at my house all the time. We really never got that scared though, we mostly watched them for laughs, ok so maybe we’re a bit morbid but that’s why I love her!
Enjoy!

I am so greatful someone thought of an automatic postal center!!! After the post office is closed I can still mail all my packages, that’s awesome!!! I think these should be required at every post office. I think they should actually be everywhere…walmart, college campuses, high schools, the mall! How easy would that be?

I am a true American. I get lazier and lazier as the years progress! I enjoy elevators, anything automated (except when I am trying to call someone), I like not having to walk on the stairs when I can just ride up them, I love getting to stand in Denver and not walk through the airport but be brought through by their speed walking devices!
Enjoy!

So if you are in our neck of the woods you would know that it has been raining a LOT!!! I mean nearly everyday. Now being one who doesn’t really care for rain, as soon as I heard that Wednesday would be the only day without it I’ve been anticipating this day!!! :) I love the sun. It makes you all warm inside. It’s like medicine for a bad mood!!! I decided to go out for a walk with Ellie and bring along my camera just in case. I caught my self portrait for the day.

I really like this image. One because you can feel the warmth of the day! Two of course because Ellie is in it. And finally I love that her leash saying “Best Friend” is in focus. I remember being in high school and anticipating the day I could own my own dog. I remember dating boys and dreaming about getting married and owning a dog. I remember when I got engaged one of the first things I told TW was “I so can’t wait to get a house so we can get a dog!” I remember finally getting a dog (which as you know was Roxy my yellow lab who passed away last July) and being so happy. Now we have Ellie and it’s true she’s my best friend. She’s always waiting for me at home. She’s always happy to see me. She kindly sits on the porch while I step out of my car. She’s always wondering where I’m at and what I’m doing. She is good at keeping me company while my husband isn’t home. Thank you Ellie for being such a great friend!!!
Enjoy.

Yay!!! I made it to day two!!! I almost forgot already, I know I know how could I? I think that once I get into the habit of this it will be my focus for the day. I’m not quite there yet though!!!
Tuesdays are the days Tanja (once again our intern) comes all the way out to our home office to learn and grow and get some valuable work done!!! So tonight we invited her for dinner (which we have fed her every Tuesday but until now it was a frozen pizza on a paper plate in the office). She comes over around 4pm -ish and we work all day until about 10pm. While she was working away I slipped out to start dinner before my husband would be home, before I knew it Tanja was right by my side helping out!!! She really is great and I’m so excited she’s taking on this task!!! So today’s image is all of us enjoying dinner. Let’s say it was a bit awkward to have someone leave the table set up a tripod and then push the button and run back to the table but I’m pretty sure we got our laughs out of it!!! Thank you Tanja for all your hard word and dedication!!!

Thank you so much for your comments!!!! I’m excited to see who all will follow along this adventure with me!!!
Leave me some blog love!!!
Enjoy.

Today I will start my 365 Day Self Portrait Project! If you read the last few posts you will understand the take two part. I’ve tried this once before for about a month, but my circumstances have changed and I am here to try again, this time I’m going to make it!!! I’m sure your comments will help me have the drive to post things as well so PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE leave me some blog love!!! Each day will have a self portrait as well as an explanation.

Here’s to Day 1………..
I was preparing for an engagement shoot I wasn’t too happy about since it’s been super rainy. I wanted sunny skies so I could get some of that yummy sun flair. I got all ready for the shoot and felt like I was going off to battle someone with all my straps on! I felt it would be an appropriate start to the project. So to explain why there are 5 images instead of 1……..the first shot in this series was my first shot and as you can see it was out of focus but it was my favorite! I loved how Ellie was sitting right behind me wondering what in the world is she doing? So I checked the camera and I was bummed since it was out of focus so every shot after that was an attempt at the first. What I liked about this shot is you can tell it’s rainy, I’m wearing my favorite jeans, and Ellie is in it. Perfect opening to my project. Well as you can see I failed in recreating my first dreamy image, but I feel having this series makes up for it. You can see we actually have two dogs (which is probably why it was so hard to recreate) but Ellie is the queen around here and I quite frankly don’t like putting up with my husband’s dog because she’s not too bright. My Ellie is so smart and a quick learner, which is exactly why I love her so much! In the end you can see my frustration as I walked back toward the camera while the timer was going off.

I think I may try to do a Monday Favorites weekly!!! Bear with me! Also today is the start of my 365 so be watching for that later, I’ve got to plan what my first image is going to be otherwise no one will be interested and it also needs to be in it’s own category I believe.
So everyone knows I love love love Etsy. I found this sellers site today and fell in love so I wanted to share a few items with you!
Any kind of headpieces are so cute and super stylish right now! They show a cute idea to have a bridal one as well as ones for each of your bridesmaids!!! Super Cute!!!! I love when my clients take the time to plan for little details like this! The more you go out of your way to be original the better photos you have!!!!

She can even match a set for the bride and groom!!!! How sweet is that!!!

Wow this girl is rockin! She even makes shoe clips!!! What a great idea to jazz up some shoes for your wedding but still be able to wear them after the big day!!!!

I love her shoulder wraps here! What a great idea for a winter wedding! Well any season this would be so romantic and gorgeous, it’s just a little extra warmth for our winter brides!!! :)

These little stickers are super customizable and quickly and easily jazz up your party favors!!! Super cute! Again things like these make your wedding photos that much better!!! :)

These shoe clips are really fun too! These have more of a feather feel than the earlier posted ones! I like how they again add some flair to some plain shoes!!!

Hey there! I have not been able to get last night’s wedding and how it made me feel off my mind so I thought I would blog about it. I realized I haven’t been doing to well on my personal side of blogging most everything so far has been the pretty pictures, so I’m going to try to blog everyday. I started a 365 day self portrait album a little over a year ago and got maybe a month into it before I decided I couldn’t do it everyday. I was still in college and trying to finish up my degree with 24 credit hours in one semester. I was leaving my house everyday at 7:30am and then not arriving home until 8pm or sometimes later. I started to notice that once I got home I first of all didn’t really feel like taking a self portrait, secondly didn’t feel very creative with it always being so dark, and third of all felt all my images looked as if I felt gloomy everyday with the first two limitations I had placed before me. So I am setting out tomorrow to start that again! I feel like it will also help me blog everyday and possibly help me grow as an individual. Which is exactly what experience from the wedding last night that I want to share. ……
I was in the brides room (Natalie) with her and her bridesmaids doing the typical “getting ready” shots. The atmosphere was very calm and relaxing and I ironically didn’t feel any stress even though I was in the process of documenting someone’s wedding day! Her mother Mary arrived (she’s so sweet- I’ll get to that in just a second) and I could feel the emotion in the room rise! Her mother came into the wash room while she was styling her hair and they shared some sweet moments and she mentioned how no mother ever talks about “losing” her daughter. She said it has been a life changing experience for her and we would realize when we had daughters of our own. She mentioned that it was almost as if Natalie had died, we all snickered a bit, but she elaborated and said it really was, she wasn’t going to have any late night chats with her anymore and that part of their life is gone. I have pondered on her thoughts a bit and thought “am I enjoying what is going on around me while it’s happening?” I am not going to live ANY of these experiences again! The people will change, the settings will change, I will change. With each moment in life we pass through we change. I used to be really good at journal writing but have failed recently in that area. I guess you could say this is my journal but then again what happens when all this information is corrupt and no one can read it, if I don’t keep a hard copy of something my grandchildren will not have an opportunity to read about me and learn about the kind of person I came to be and how I got there.
This all happened while I slipped Natalie and Brad’s guestbook into her hands. After she was telling us these things she turned to me and said she really was greatful to have found me. First of all I do not accept praise very well and it’s always awkward to have someone tell you how wonderful you are, but especially when it’s someone you have met twice in your whole life. She shared some really sweet things with me, mostly about how talented I was. I am not going to elaborate her but I will say it was really hard to hear that, but it really was good for my soul. To have a mother be so sweet and have such kind words to say to me is such a blessing. I am so greatful I was able to have that experience yesterday. I learned that I need to hear those things as well as practice accepting praise.
I really do have a wonderful career! I love so much to be able to work with such kind loving people and families. I love going to work when I have weddings like this! Thank you so much to all my sweet, loving clients. I couldn’t be where I am today without all of you!
Enjoy!

Meet Jamie…

Meet Miller…

Meet Jamie and Miller…

Jamie and Miller will be getting married on December 31st! I had the pleasure of shooting their engagement session last week! They are so cute together and we had a blast noticing anything that had to do with a heart! They really were up for anything and it was so fun to watch them interact and embark on a new step in their relationship. Jamie definitely finds comfort in Miller’s arms….which makes for some great photos!!! We met up at a little gas station in Goshen and then sorta wandered around town and hopped in the car to stop off at an old tree farm to finish up the session with some awesome fall foliage!
I can’t take credit for this shot, but Jamie’s idea was awesome! Check her ring out….isn’t it gorgeous!

I love how Miller always makes her laugh! They seriously are so cute! Oh and the jackets! I had to post this one for you Miller! You look so awesome in your coat! ;)

Jamie said she’s always wanted a field picture! Well here ya go! This was behind a gas station believe it or not. I think she’s such a beautiful gal!

I am in love with this spot! It’s so mystical! I loved the lighting and the colors! It’s perfect.

Enjoy!
