Nicole and Chad // Northwest Arkansas Engagement Photography

May 17th, 2012

I met up with Nicole and Chad at the Bentonville square a little over a week ago.  The weather was absolutely perfect and such a bright and sunny day!  I love those, you know the kind that make you want to slip into a loose flowy dress, hop in the car with the windows down, and crank up the radio and sing out loud!!!!  Ok enough daydreaming about summer…….  Nicole and Chad are getting married THIS weekend!  Their wedding will be at Chapel on the Creeks followed by a nice reception at the Double Tree Hotel in Bentonville.  She’s got some gorgeous things lined up and I am so pumped about shooting their big day!  As many of you know I’ve been making progress in the way of Baby Dotson #2 making her way.  I’ve been laying real low the last week in hopes to make it to their big day!  I’ve enlisted some backup help just in case though!  My wonderful hubby, TW, will be packing along with us the day of to tote around gear and be my get away driver in case she decides she wants to make her debut!  Also Megan will be my second shooter and her hubby Matt will be sort of “on call” if you will.  It’s so wonderful to have a group of local photographers that are willing to help each other out!

If I could describe Nicole and Chad I would like to call them the Southern Country Club Couple. :)  Nicole and Chad have been dating for 11 years.  They met in 20o1 at a Little Rock hockey game.  Apparently it pays to be out on a business venture and be sitting in a group of girls’ seats!  They enjoy  going to dinner together, cooking breakfast on Sunday mornings, and going trout fishing!  They are the proud parents of  a yellow lab named Jaxx who is quite handsome, he’ll make his debut here on the blog in another post.  I can’t give away everything right now!

I just love a good black and white collection of photos!  But don’t despair this couple had some great style so there will be a post later with lots of COLOR!  :)

Isn’t she just gorgeous!??!?!  She’s got that half smile down!

The image on the top right is my favorite!

Leave a comment below and tell us which ones are your favorites!

Enjoy!

Katie and Aaron // Northwest Arkansas Maternity Photographer

February 22nd, 2012

Katie actually contacted me a while back about shooting their birth story, which is an awesome new trend and I am so excited that Amber Lanning from Lanning Photography will be documenting ours this time around!  Brooke Robinson Photographydid an amazing job with Titan’s story the first time!  Then Katie called and said they were moving to PA in just a few short weeks so they wouldn’t be around for Genesis’ birth!  We decided to shoot some maternity photos for them instead and we had so much fun getting together on this chilly winter day at the park in Fayetteville.  Congratulations Katie and Aaron, we’re so excited to meet Genesis soon!

This was mom and dad’s prediction on the date she’ll be born.  Dad already missed and maybe mom will be right?  I’m going to put my guess in for March 3rd!

Just love her new little name Genesis Faith!

This is totally my favorite unscripted moment!

Congratulations you two!  And be sure to let us know when Genesis graces us with her presence!  So excited for you!

Enjoy!

Jaime // Pratt Place Bridal Portraits

February 20th, 2012

I met up with Jaime, her mother, mother in law, two sister in laws, and her best friend for her bridal portraits at Pratt Place Inn a few days ago.  Jaime currently lives in Georgia so traveling her prior to their big day wasn’t an option, hence we did our bridal session on Friday.  Now that everyone has had the chance to experience her beauty on her big day I’m excited to reveal some of her bridals to you!

I had a great time Jaime!  Going through all your beautiful wedding photos now and can’t wait to share!

Jordan and Jordan // Old Main Lawn Wedding

February 9th, 2012

Jordan and Jordan were married on October 23rd 2011.  They are such an adorable couple and I fell in love with them as soon as they told me they were both painters……which sprouted their paint session earlier last year that was featured on The Wedding Post.  It was a gorgeous day to get married.  I arrived at Carnall Hall where Jordan (girl) and her girls were getting ready.  The feeling in the room was pretty relaxed which provided for an ample atmosphere for photography!

The two met when boy Jordan knocked on girl Jordan’s dorm room door and asked to borrow a guitar pick (moments after breaking his on purpose).   Here she is opening his gift to her and what else would you expect?  A guitar pick!  Precious!

Next I met up with the groom and his fellas to catch a little of their final preparations.

I just love when my clients give each other gifts on their special day!  It’s so much fun!

I first noticed her ring while we were shooting their engagements and I love it!!!  She told me since she’s a nurse she wanted a ring that wasn’t going to cut open her gloves all the time.  I just love how unique it is, just like Jordan!

Can you believe they did all these arrangements themselves?

Oh I could go on and on about how romantic the harp was in setting the tone on campus!!!!  Lovely lovely lovely!

That shot with her dad is probably one of my favorites of the entire day!  I know she’ll cherish that forever!

Gorgeous backdrop for a gorgeous couple!

Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Jordan Sherrod!

Just love all these beautiful girls!

The happy couple!

Another favorite!  Gotta love that gorgeous light!

He’s such a sweetie!

Lovin that shot with her reflection!

Another awesome Shelby Lynn’s Cake!

Yay for Hog cakes!  (We had one too!  I think it’s a must if you are U of A alumni!)

Perfection!

Oh I think this is my favorite shot of the entire night!

Bouquet and garter tosses

And those who caught them!

Yay happy wedding day!

Audra and Jeff // Creekwood Gardens Wedding Photographers

February 7th, 2012

I’m taking this downtime to play catch up on all the blogging I should have done this past year!  I tried to make it a priority to serve my clients so my blogging took a little backseat ride for a while.  So you should expect several blog posts coming up soon!

Audra and Jeff were married at the beautiful Creekwood Gardens in Rogers.  For the last few years they haven’t had an indoor option but in 2012, Lisa Rose has added Serendipity!  I’m so excited about this and can’t wait to shoot there this year!  Audra and her girls were pampered at The Papaya in their bridal suite, then arrived at Creekwood Gardens via limo from Pinnacle Car Services.  Both really great recommended vendors!  John, my second shooter, and I were already busy taking detail shots of her dress, shoes, decor, and jewelry when they arrived.  Audra soon got into her dress and we scouted locations for beautiful photographs!

The florals were provided by Creekwood Gardens as part of their all inclusive packages.  Really a great deal, especially if you are planning a wedding from PA like this girl!  Cupcakes were from my all time favorite cupcake shop……BLISS!  :)   Yummy!  The boys played a little football before it was time for pictures.  Linens and chairs are also included in their all inclusive packages!  Check out those red shoes!!!!!!  Gorgeous backdrop for these lovely earrings!  I just love their shoes together!

What wedding would be complete without a smores table?!?!?!?!

Meet Jeff and his groomsmen.

Meet Audra and her lovely bridesmaids!

Just having a little fun with the guys!  This group was priceless

Their wedding ceremony was conducted by a close friend, one of the perks of having an outdoor ceremony!  Not to mention how gorgeous Creekwood Gardens photographs!!!!

The happy couple makes their way down the aisle!

What an adorable couple!  They were so much fun to work with!  Thanks Audra and Jeff!  Too bad you don’t live closer!

Time for cake and toasts!

And finally let the party begin!!!  This group had such a great time!  I had so much fun out on the dance floor with them!

Congratulations and Best Wishes!!!!

Beautiful ceremony inside the barn!

Fayetteville Engagements // Grace and Brady

January 25th, 2012

Here’s part two of their engagements!  See part one here! We changed outfits halfway through the session, well they did I remained in my original attire!  Since they met in the Razorback Marching Band I think their red outfits are quite fitting for the finishing touches on their engagements!  I just love when there’s a bit of a personal aspect to your photos!  I’ll admit we have a bit of Hog Fever ourselves and wore Razorback t-shirts in our maternity photos, so glad we did because now those images grace the walls of Titan’s Razorback room!!!!

Enjoy!
